Rant for Jesus-Fighting My Battles, December 2019

What is the battlefield all about? It is about who gets the Glory, Satan or God. Lucifer aka Satan, a created being for the purpose of giving God Glory, turned on God and decided he wanted the Glory for himself. He stated he would ascend and become like God. God threw him out of heaven along with his followers. They are now powers, principalities and demons of darkness. He still wants the Glory for himself and will do anything to get it away from God.

Satan causes the battles and uses these battles to weaken you, place fear and doubt in your mind and to get you away from God. He’s trying to get you to join him and not give God the Glory He deserves and requires.

The battles sometimes angers, shocks or panics you. Some come out of nowhere and hit you full force, head on. Satan begins whispering words of doubt and fear into your mind. When you begin to worry and be fearful he knows he has found a way in. He is putting up a high thing in your mind that exalts itself against the knowledge of God.

When you begin to complain about the battle i.e. Why me God? Why am I suffering, grieving? Why did You let this happen to me? Why me Jesus, don’t You love me? He’s moving you away from God. You aren’t praising the Lord but you are whining and complaining even though the Lord warns us in His Word that we will have many troubles in this world. He also tells us He will take care of us if we will trust and obey Him.

Stop doubting our Deliverer. Quit complaining about having to go through battles, Jesus had to and we must as well. Ask Him what He wants you to learn from going through it. There’s a purpose in the Lord allowing the battle.

Psalm 32:7-8 You are my hiding place; you will protect me from trouble and surround me with songs of deliverance.

John 16:33 I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.

Deuteronomy 31:6, 8 Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the Lord your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. The Lord himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged.

Isaiah 26: 3-4 Those of steadfast mind you keep in peace—because they trust in you. Trust in the Lord forever, for in the Lord God you have an everlasting rock.

When doubt is running through your mind, praise to God probably is not coming out of your mouth. Satan will do everything he can to get praise for God, out of your mouth.

In Job, Satan says he wanted to prove men on earth would not praise God if they were placed in troubles, hard times, tribulations and battles. He wanted Job to curse God. It backfired. Although Job went through horrendous tribulations and battles on earth, he never cursed God but he continued to praise God through the battles. God got the praise and received the Glory not Satan.

Remember, Satan used to praise God when he was in heaven. He knows the power of praise. He wants it. He does not want you giving it to God. Praise is a weapon we need to use often when in a battle. It chases Satan and his demons away. They hate hearing praises to God.

After my son Zack was diagnosed with brain cancer, I remember those 55 mile trips to the hospital. With tears running down my face I would sing I Will Praise You in the Storm by Casting Crowns all the way there. I would sing it loudly while tears flowed down my face. I couldn’t allow Satan to get a foothold in my mind, using this tragedy to get me away from God. I refused to allow it, so I sang praises to God instead.

When Zack died less than 4 months later, I still sang praises to God and continue to this day. Satan is the one who gave us death, it wasn’t God. Jesus gives us eternal life and I knew Zack was with Jesus. That is something to sing praises about.

Praise Jesus in the battle and the forces of evil will be defeated. Jesus is a very present help in the time of trouble. Just mention the powerful name of Jesus and Satan will shut up. Your mind will calm, your body will relax. Every principality, power and force of evil will be defeated. They will eventually come back. Praise God when they do and run them off again. Do it as soon as you realize they are back. Do it quickly, speak or sing your praise out loud so they can hear it.

Exodus 15:2 The Lord is my strength and my song; he has given me victory. This is my God, and I will praise him—my father’s God, and I will exalt him!

This battle began in Genesis and will continue until Jesus comes in the second coming to finish him off. To send him to the pit of hell for a thousand years. We must continue to fight against evil in all forms. We don’t have enough strength alone, but our God is our refuge and our strength. Do not fear when this world comes against you. The Lord will fight your battles. He will fight for you, His beloved.

Joshua 1:9 I can do all things through Him who strengthens me.

Psalm 46:1-3 God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear, though the earth give way and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea, though its waters roar and foam and the mountains quake with their surging.

Proverbs 18:10 The name of the Lord is a strong tower; the righteous run into it and are safe.

So as we continue on this earth, we will certainly face many battles, troubles, trials etc. It is when, not if. Remember your weapons that beat the devil and his demons back away from you. Pour out your praise to God in song and Scripture, speak God’s word which is that double edged sword of God, to fight against evil. When evil hears God’s words being spoken they run, they can’t bear it. Speak them often. Be quick about it. Don’t let Satan and his demons linger in your presence. Run them off. Though you may be surrounded by the enemy, God is surrounding your enemy. Praise God.

Jesus sees the battles coming before you know anything about them. He is already praying for your victory before it gets to you. When you get through the battle victoriously, remember to tell others about what God has done for you and what a great God we serve.

No matter what happens on earth I will continue to praise His holy Name all of my days. I will lift my hands and surrender to my Great God. Praise God. It is a message to Satan and hell itself that when they tried to destroy you, they can’t do it. When he sent others to accuse you no one that mattered would listen; when your heart was broken because of wicked unbelievers, God mended it up and healed you. Give God a sacrifice of praise in your suffering. Yes it may cost you something but the Lord will restore you better than you were before the battle. It is truth. I have experienced it. He has restored me from all Satan wanted to use against me to destroy me. God boomeranged it right back on the heads of the senders. He did it for me, He will do it for you. Lift your hands and sing His praises.

God bless. Heal the brokenhearted, bind up all their wound.
