Bible Strong-Flesh verses Spirit, July 2020

Recently I experienced my flesh taking over in a bad way. What made it worse is, I didn’t just fall short one day, but the next day as well. It was like the old me jumped out and there was no keeping it in. Before I knew it on both days, I didn’t behave in a manner the Lord would find pleasing. I didn’t like it one bit. It made me ashamed of myself because I failed the Lord. Not just one day, that would have been bad enough, but two days over the same thing. Holy Spirit convicted me and I repented. I was not condemned, but rather convicted. I couldn’t repent fast enough.

Proverbs 10:17 People who accept discipline are on the pathway to life, but those who ignore correction will go astray.

How discouraging it is to know that at this point in my life and relationship with precious Jesus, that I still don’t always do the right things. I can’t dwell on it though. I will never get all things right on this earth. That is why I need my Savior Jesus. He gets all things right, all the time. I want to live my life honoring and glorifying Jesus, walking in the Spirit not in the flesh to my detriment. I rise up against discouragement and Satan in the Holy Name of Jesus.

Ecclesiastes 7:20 Indeed there is not a righteous man on earth, who continually does good and who never sins.

I know I fail Him way too many times. I don’t want to but I do anyway. Our flesh is so weak. We know what is the right thing to do or say and sometimes we do exactly what our flesh wants us to, disregarding Holy Spirit who lives inside of us.

The Holy Spirit is working in me all the time. He’s transforming my thoughts, words and actions to be more Christ like. It will take my entire life to get to where I need to be and even then, God will have to perfect all things concerning me so I can enter through the gates of heaven. He began working in me the day I accepted Jesus and continues to this day.

I am reconciled to God through the blood of Jesus Christ. I stand firm in the love of Jesus. Jesus has changed my life. His wonderful grace is mine every day and night. Thank You Lord for not giving up on me.

Psalm 138:8 The Lord will perfect that which concerns me. Your mercy, O Lord, endures forever; Do not forsake the works of Your hands.

Philippians 1:6 being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.

God bless. Heal the brokenhearted, bind up all their wounds.
