Rant for Jesus-God’s Blessing and Favor

August 2020

I have been retired for many years now. As I look back over my career, I had a successful career. I did a lot of traveling and sometimes it took me out of the United States into other countries. For someone who grew up poor, without parents and from a small town in Alabama, who would have ever thought it.

I now know it wasn’t my intellect or my personal talent that led me to such a successful career. It wasn’t me at all. It was God blessing me. It was God showing me favor. It was God in me, for me, with me and God watching over me. It was never me, but always God. He showed me much favor along the way, from the beginning of my career until the end. I was so blessed I was able to retire at 52. Thank You Lord for Your Grace.

His blessings and favor over my life continue to this day. My cup overflows. God walks with me, sometimes holding me up, other times He carries me. He is always watching over me, especially in my weaknesses and failures. He always makes a way through or around a problem. It is God moving the mountains out of my path or showing me the way around them to clear my path. You see I’m not strong in my own being, I am strong in the Lord. It is the Lord in me that strengthens me, to continue on. What a gift of love He has given me. Not that I deserve it, I don’t, but because I belong to Him. I am His, He is mine.

Matthew 17:20 …for assuredly, I say to you, if you have faith as a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, Move from here to there, and it will move; and nothing will be impossible for you.

Isaiah 43:19 Behold, I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth; shall ye not know it? I will even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert.

It isn’t an accident you are reading this today. He knows where you’ve been and what you are going through, all of your yesterdays and tomorrows. If you belong to Him, He is going before you to make a way for you through whatever come’s next. He’s moving mountains and will part the water’s if necessary, all for you, His child, and His beloved. He is a mighty, mighty, mighty great God.

John 5:14 And this is the confidence that we have toward him, that if we ask anything according to his will he hears us.

Remind yourself each day that our God is great, an awesome God. He’s greater than your enemies. If they are against you they are against God. Let God arise and His enemies be scattered. He is greater than any sickness. He bore our sicknesses on His back when they whipped Him. By His stripes we are healed. He is greater than any addiction. He’s a chain breaker and will break the bondage off of you. He is greater than any sorrow you have experienced, for in His Presence is the fullness of joy. He will heal your broken heart and bind up all your wounds. He has done it for me, He will do it for you.

Exodus 23:22 But if you carefully obey his voice and do all that I say, then I will be an enemy to your enemies and an adversary to your adversaries.

Psalm 68:1 God shall arise, his enemies shall be scattered; and those who hate him shall flee before him!

Psalm 16:11 You make known to me the path of life; in your presence there is fullness of joy; at your right hand are pleasures forevermore.

The Lord has showered me with blessings and favor I could never earn or deserve. It is only through His love and undeserved favor that you and I receive them. What a good good Father, Savior, Spirit. Holy, holy, holy.

2 Corinthians 8-10 And God is able to bless you abundantly, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work. As it is written: They have freely scattered their gifts to the poor; their righteousness endures forever. Now he who supplies seed to the sower and bread for food will also supply and increase your store of seed and will enlarge the harvest of your righteousness.

Luke 6:38 Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.

Psalm 30:5 For his anger lasts only a moment, but his favor lasts a lifetime; weeping may stay for the night, but rejoicing comes in the morning.

Psalm 84:11 For the Lord God is a sun and shield; the Lord bestows favor and honor; no good thing does he withhold from those whose walk is blameless.

Looking through eyes of love God sees who we can be, not at how bad we have messed up. Jesus already paid the price on the cross for you and me. He looked at us and thought, I will pay the price for all of these. Give Me the ones who have been rejected by others, the addicts who need a Savior, I’ll take the ones hurting, grieving and in pain. I can heal their broken hearts and bind up all their wounds. I’ll take that one who has just been betrayed and without hope. I’ll take the ones who have lost their homes and businesses. I can lift them up in due time. I will help them and strengthen them. I will lift them up with the righteousness of my right hand. I will take all of those as my own. I will love them and bless them and show them favor. I will be with them and never leave them. I will never forsake them. Give me the sick ones, I will be their great Physician and will heal them, comfort and strengthen them. I will give the price of blood on the cross so they can be with me in heaven. I will forgive them of all of their sins and they shall have eternal life. We have been bought with a price. No greater love exists.

1 Peter 2:24 He himself bore our sins in his body on the tree, that we might die to sin and live to righteousness. By his wounds you have been healed.

Psalm 147:3 He heals the brokenhearted and binds up all their wounds.

Isaiah 41:10 So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.

Deuteronomy 31:6 Be strong and courageous. Do not fear or be in dread of them, for it is the Lord your God who goes with you. He will not leave you or forsake you.

Isaiah 53:5 But he was pierced for our transgressions; he was crushed for our iniquities; upon him was the chastisement that brought us peace, and with his stripes we are healed.

Your eternity depends on whether you are a follower of Jesus or not. You will spend eternity somewhere, heaven or hell. There is no in between. Choose Jesus and heaven.

God bless. Heal the brokenhearted, bind up all their wounds.
