The Message-Hedge of Protection-September 2021

God promises to protect those He loves and who loves and obeys Him, even though we don’t deserve it. Scripture is filled with promises of God’s protection.

The hedge of protection is seen in the book of Job. Satan is talking to God. He has to ask God’s permission to do anything to Job. I trust that Satan does the same with those who love God.

Job 1:10 NLT You have always put a wall of protection around him and his home and his property. You have made him prosper in everything he does. Look how rich he is!

Job 1:10 NKJV Have You not made a hedge around him, around his household, and around all that he has on every side? You have blessed the work of his hands, and his possessions have increased in the land.

I often pray for a hedge of protection around my loved ones especially, but also for Israel and our troops. No safer place to be than in God’s hands who are protecting those who love and obey Him. Glory to Your Name oh God.

Psalm 91 is a good chapter in the Bible to read when you or a loved one needs protection.

Those who live in the shelter of the Most High will find rest in the shadow of the Almighty. This I declare about the Lord: He alone is my refuge, my place of safety; he is my God, and I trust him. For he will rescue you from every trap and protect you from deadly disease. He will cover you with his feathers. He will shelter you with his wings. His faithful promises are your armor and protection. Do not be afraid of the terrors of the night, nor the arrow that flies in the day. Do not dread the disease that stalks in darkness, nor the disaster that strikes at midday. Though a thousand fall at your side, though ten thousand are dying around you, these evils will not touch you. Just open your eyes, and see how the wicked are punished. If you make the Lord your refuge, if you make the Most High your shelter, no evil will conquer you; no plague will come near your home. For he will order his angels to protect you wherever you go. They will hold you up with their hands so you won’t even hurt your foot on a stone. You will trample upon lions and cobras; you will crush fierce lions and serpents under your feet!

The Lord says, I will rescue those who love me. I will protect those who trust in my name. When they call on me, I will answer; I will be with them in trouble. I will rescue and honor them. I will reward them with a long life and give them my salvation.

Every lover of Jesus needs to remind themselves that we have access to a hedge of protection against Satan’s schemes. Place the helmet of salvation on your head and carry (in your heart and mind) the sword of the Spirit, which is God’s Word. Speak His Word whenever you are confronted by wickedness and Satan must flee.

Instead of trying to solve problems by ourselves, we should call on Him to help us. I depend on Him to help me in whatever I do or whatever circumstances I find myself in. If you feel fearful, worried, threatened or just stressed out, get out your Bible and find scriptures that address those feelings. Read them, speak them to prevent those feelings from penetrating our mind heart and soul. Stop them in their tracks. If you resist the devil, he must flee. Try it, trust Him to place a hedge of protection around you. Jesus will not fail you. He promises no one can snatch you away from Him.

James 4:7 So humble yourselves before God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.

John 10:10 The thief’s purpose is to steal and kill and destroy. My purpose is to give them a rich and satisfying life.

John 10:28-30 I give them eternal life, and they will never perish. No one can snatch them away from me, for my Father has given them to me, and he is more powerful than anyone else. No one can snatch them from the Father’s hand. The Father and I are one.

Jesus is our protector even when we get ourselves in a mess. His word is true so you can be confident in that. That does not give us reason to do things we know we should not be doing. Do not test God. He will watch over you but you better humble yourself and not test God if you want to be under His hedge of protection.

Psalm 34:7 The angel of the Lord encamps around those who fear him, and he delivers them.

Psalm 27:5 For in the day of trouble he will keep me safe in his dwelling; he will hide me in the shelter of his sacred tent and set me high upon a rock.

Psalm 5:11 But let all who take refuge in you be glad; let them ever sing for joy. Spread your protection over them that those who love your name may rejoice in you.

One day believers will experience God’s eternal hedge of protection in His holy presence.

Jude 1:24-25 To him who is able to keep you from stumbling and to present you before his glorious presence without fault and with great joy—to the only God our Savior be glory, majesty, power and authority, through Jesus Christ our Lord, before all ages, now and forevermore! Amen.

God bless. Heal the brokenhearted, bind up all their wounds.
