Rant for Jesus-Hurting Soul, November 2020

If you have a soul full of pain, a mind full of worry or a heart that is broken, it shows in your life. Even if you are born again, the wounds, if not removed can continue to affect everything you do in life. Your attitudes and actions are an expression and reflection of the wounds you are still living with. It can affect your speech, attitude, your marriage, relationships and how well you get along with others, your job, everything. It can cause strife and division.

Holy Spirit enters upon our accepting Jesus and is perfect from the time He enters and aligns with our spirit.  Nothing required for the Holy Spirit who is all knowing, all perfect, part of the God Head. Our souls not so much. There is sometimes much healing that needs to occur when our souls are cracked, bruised, broken or wounded (trauma).

Your soul (mind, will and emotions) have to go through a process to be healed. A soul that is wounded by past sin and trauma isn’t instantly healed. The Lord has to heal some of these cracks and wounds that are on the inside of you. These wounds may manifest themselves in your life as depression, anger, fear and worry, hate, pain, abusive relationships, harshness, sorrow etc.

Get God’s Word into you on a continuous basis. As you read and speak the Word it can break chains that bind you.

John 6:63 …the words that I speak unto you they are spirit and they are life.

Romans 12:2  And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect, will of God.

Ephesians 4:23  And be renewed in the spirit of your mind;

A wounded hurting soul can manifest itself in the form of a spirit of fear and worry. Scenarios start playing out in your head. Full-blown “what if” scenarios where you imagine an entire catastrophe coming from your own imagination. Bad things such as death of loved ones, bad things happening to your children, sicknesses etc. can be manifested in your mind. Any small thing can be turned into a catastrophic event in a matter of minutes.  Over and over again, year after year, these thoughts take control of your mind. It isn’t just your imagination it is worry and fear causing it. You keep imagining fearful events, that don’t even exist. It can go on forever if your wounded soul isn’t healed.

Where did this fear/worry, these imaginations and strongholds come from? They are from the enemy. The enemy has penetrated. Satan can bring Christians and non-Christians down by striking them with the spirit of fear and worry. When a Christian is worried, or fearful they can’t live the life God intended. Jesus repeatedly told His disciples not to worry.

2 Corinthians 10:3-5, For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh: (For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strongholds) Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ.

1 John 4:18 NIV There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with evil. The one who fears is not made perfect in love.

A bruise literally means bleeding on the inside. If you are bruised, cracked, broken you need a healing on the inside that only Jesus can give you.

You are the way you are partially because of what has happened to you in life and also because of the choices you made. You don’t have to use your past as an excuse to stay that way.

You have to let God heal you and make you what He wanted you to be all along. He heals us and uses us through our testimony to help others, to bring others into God’s healing power.

Accepting Jesus is the first step to healing your hurting soul. Reading the Bible, the Word of God is food for the soul and the key to healing. It renews our minds each time we read scriptures. The Word not only heals and restores the soul, it changes our mind-set.

Hebrews 4:12 For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword….

Psalm 107:20 He sent His word and healed them, and delivered them from their destructions.

Proverbs 4: 20-23 My son, give attention to my words; Incline your ear to my sayings. Do not let them depart from your eyes; Keep them in the midst of your heart; for they are life to those who find them, and health to all their flesh.

God wants to heal your soul, deliver you from your past, your fears and worry and from all things that have hurt you. He can take the bad in your life and turn it around for good. He can bring us from destruction to victory. God has a life for you, a future. He wants to use you to influence other people by spreading the Gospel, teaching others about Jesus or just by being a good example for others.

We must be aggressive against Satan. He is our enemy, he is vicious. We must fight him. Read God’s Word as much as possible. Speak His Word out loud so Satan can hear it. He hates God’s Word. Him and his demons tremble and flee hearing the Word. He can’t read your mind so speak it out loud.

If you believe Jesus died for your sins, rose from the grave and ascended to Heaven to prepare a place for you, ask Jesus to come into your heart to forgive you of your sins. At that moment the blood of Jesus will cleanse you of your sins. In that moment, the Holy Spirit will bear witness with your spirit that you have passed from death unto life. The peace of God will fill your mind and His peace will fill your heart. He will begin to mend the brokenhearted and bind up all their wounds. Then you can begin the process of walking in faith with Jesus as your Lord and Savior.

God bless. Heal the brokenhearted, bind up all their wounds.
