The Message-Judgment June, 2019

Topics of love, holiness, faith, mercy, peace, joy, power and sovereignty are often taught. We seldom hear about God’s judgment these days. People tend to stay away from the subject. Therefore many people don’t understand that God is also a God of judgment. When God brings His judgment He is exercising justice. It is part of who He is. Therefore if we are to know Him we should know all aspects of who He is.

Jeremiah 8:7 But My people do not know the judgment of the Lord.

Jeremiah 5:4-5 Therefore I said, surely these are poor they are foolish for they don’t know the way of the Lord, the judgment of their God. I will go to the great men the leaders and speak to them for surely they have known the way of the Lord, the judgment of their God.

Our God is long suffering and merciful. He brings justice through judgment and He is holy, holy, holy because of His righteousness.

Jeremiah 9:24 Let him who glories, glory in this, that he understands and knows Me, that I am the Lord, exercising loving kindness, judgment and righteousness in the earth. For in these I delight says the Lord.

Jesus carried God’s judgment for our sins at the cross. Our Savior willingly bore the judgment for us so we wouldn’t have to. He became sin for us. God’s judgment for sin was fully satisfied or atoned for by the shedding of Jesus blood. Through our repentance of sins we are completely forgiven by Him. Jesus cleanses us and gives us eternal life.

We then are responsible for our thoughts, words and actions and will one day give an account of them to Jesus.

Ecclesiastes 3:17 God will bring to judgment both the righteous and the wicked, for there will be a time for every activity, a time for every deed.

Every unrepented sin written in the records, since we accepted Jesus will be made known.

Luke 12:2 For there is nothing that is covered that will not be revealed nor hidden that will not be known.

Ezekiel 18:30 Therefore my people, I will judge you, each one according to his ways, declares the Sovereign Lord. Repent, turn away from all your offenses; then sin will not be your downfall.

Ecclesiastes 12:14 For God will bring every deed into judgment, including every hidden thing, whether it is good or evil.

Our work and the motives in our heart for doing it, will be tried.

1 Corinthians 3:13 Each one’s work will become clear; for the Day will declare it, because it will be revealed by fire; and the fire will test each one’s work, of what sort it is.

Is your works done in obedience to God’s Word and His ways? Does it bring glory to the Name of the Lord?

God bless. Heal the brokenhearted, bind up all their wounds.
