Tutwiler Prison-Kingdom of God July 2016

Matthew 10:16, 10:19-20 Behold, I send you forth as sheep in the midst of wolves; be ye therefore wise as serpents, and harmless as doves. Take no thought how or what ye shall speak, for it shall be given you in that same hour what ye shall speak. For it is not ye that speak but the Spirit of your Father which speaketh in you.

Isaiah 55:11  So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth, it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.

I am not here on my own. The Lord has sent me specifically to Tutwiler. I think the Lord was testing me to see if I would be obedient, if I would follow where He is leading me. So here I am.

Isaiah 61:1 says The Spirit of the Lord God is upon me: because the Lord hath anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek: he hath sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to them that are bound.

I want to introduce you to Jesus and share the love and forgiveness of Jesus Christ.  It is an opportunity for you to change your hearts

Matthew 6:33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you. This means seek first God’s kingdom and what God wants then all your other needs will be met.

Luke 17:21 Behold the kingdom of God is within you.  It is like a spiritual light is generated from within us.

John 3:1-21 God comes to dwell inside us through the Holy Spirit and the kingdom is established within us.

Jesus said the kingdom of God does not come with observation nor will they say See here or See there. It is within you. When you accept Jesus as your Savior, the Holy Spirit comes to live in you. To lead you guide you, heal you, touch you, speak to you. Jesus said when I go I will not leave you comfortless but I will send a Comforter. He will not act on His own but for the throne. Holy Spirit is all knowing, past present and future. He is the executor of the kingdom of God. When we receive the Holy Spirit we become carriers of the kingdom of God which is revealed in and through us by the Holy Spirit.

Righteousness, peace and joy are found in the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit is always at work in the lives of God’s people who yield themselves to Him.

Righteousness is submitting yourself to be accountable to God for your thoughts, words and actions.  Allowing Him to correct you and to guide you in paths of righteousness for His name’s sake.

Psalm 23:3 Also to act in the same ways that God acts.

Micah 6:8 What does the Lord require of you but to do justly, to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God.

That is what Jesus did while on earth. Nothing but good. He loved, healed, taught, resurrected people from the dead etc.

Peace is possible only when one lives under submission to Jesus. The Hebrew word for peace is shalom, which can mean safe, well, happy, nothing missing nothing broken. Righteousness and peace go together. You can’t have one without the other.

Isaiah 32:17 the work of righteousness will be peace and the effect of righteousness quietness and assurance forever.

Joy is related to a stable source that never changes and is not affected by external forces. This source is God and His kingdom. Regardless of the circumstances we may be experiencing, His joy is our strength.

Nehemiah 8:10 Do not sorrow for the joy of the Lord is your strength.

The Lord’s Prayer which Jesus taught His disciples, deals with worshipping God the Father, having communion with Him and bringing His kingdom to earth.

Matthew 6:9-13 Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name.

Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.  Give us this day our daily bread.  And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever. Amen.

Note the first request after Hallowed be Your name is Your kingdom come. God’s kingdom should be a priority. This prayer confirms the kingdom should manifest on earth. God’s will, must be carried out on earth. We pray for God’s will to be done on earth as it is in heaven then we pray for daily bread personal needs etc.

We have discussed what God’s kingdom is, where it is found and its main characteristics. Now we will discover how to fully enter into it. Salvation through Jesus at the cross is part of God’s provision but there is something we must personally do.

 We must be born again

John 3:5 Jesus answered “Most assuredly I say to you unless one is born of water and the Spirit he cannot enter the kingdom of God”.

A spiritual birth must occur. We cannot enter the kingdom by being religious, belonging to a certain denomination. A separation from the curse of sin must take place. Our rebellious nature must end. We must become a new creation in Jesus Christ.

We must repent of our sins. We must ask forgiveness. In our society we can plead the 5th in court under certain circumstances. We don’t have to tell of things we have done that would go against us. Also, we are given Miranda rights stating you have the right to remain silent. However for Jesus to forgive us of our sins you cannot remain silent and we must confess our sins. No pleading the 5th no Miranda rights.

1 John 11:9 if we confess our sins he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to clean us from all unrighteousness.

We must surrender ourselves to God so we may live in Him and in His kingdom. All humans inherited the nature of sin and rebellion because of Adam and Eve’s sin. We express that rebellion through thought, choice and deeds. We must repent and change our wrong thoughts and ways. Repentance is the condition for being born into the kingdom. We must humble ourselves; forget our selfish desires, surrendering ourselves to God.

Isaiah 1:18-19 Come now and let us reason together says the Lord, though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; thought they are red like crimson, they shall be as wool. If you are willing and obedient, you shall eat the good of the land.

The evidence of repentance is change, a genuine transformation. It is a process of walking in faith, wanting to become more like Jesus every day. It won’t happen overnight but if you keep walking in His light it will happen. You will be changed by the Holy Spirit from the inside. You will no longer talk the way you used to, you won’t hear the way you used to, and you will no longer think the way you used to.

Place yourself under God’s authority. You have lived your life making your own decisions and it has not worked out for you. Every decision you make must be based on God’s principles. Allow Him to reign in your life. Always ask Him for guidance in all you do. Thank Him for all your blessings no matter how small. Nothing is too small to give thanks over.

Right now God is calling you. He is saying I’m not mad at you. I love you. I’m not interested in your past I’m interested in your future. You may think you have done something you can’t be forgiven for. Not true. God said I set before you life or death choose life. Just because you may have had a bad start in life does not mean the rest of your life has to be that way. End in victory, peace, love and joy. His grace (undeserved favor) is hope for the hopeless, strength for the weary and love for the broken heart.

Matthew 25:36 Jesus said I was in prison and you visited me.

He wants us to come to prisons for the hurting ones and bring Jesus into their lives. You can look at this incarceration as the worst thing that ever happened to you or look at it as a second chance. While here you can serve others, talk to people about your testimony. Live your life as an example. God does not condemn you of your sins, because 2000 years ago Jesus died on the cross for our sins, past present and future. Your sins will be cancelled for all time when you accept Him as your Lord and Savior.

Romans 8:1 there is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death.

God is longsuffering, patient, merciful and kind. He has a better life for you. Maybe you don’t know much about God. Maybe you think you are beyond his reach.  You’re not. God has a righteous mighty, long right arm that can reach down into the deepest pit and pull you out and save you.

Jesus is calling out to you.

Matthew 11:28-30 Come unto me all you that labor and are heavy ladened and I will give you rest.

I know you women of Tutwiler are heavily burdened. He sees the depths of our hearts and loves us. An amazing God, merciful and mighty. If not for His grace and mercy I would still be in that deep pit. Let Him lift you up and out of destruction and bondage, get free.

Since I started walking with Jesus I’m no longer who I was. I see things differently, hear and speak things differently. I am changed on the inside. Jesus is working in and on me and has changed me. He is the center of my life. Such love, joy and peace have entered into me. I never had that before Jesus. He has shown me how to deal with the spirit of fear that has followed me and clung to me since I was 11 years old. God doesn’t want us to be fearful. He’s helped me with the spirit of rejection. God didn’t put that in me. Satan uses it to keep us down, hold us captive.

I didn’t even know I could get rid of these bad feelings. I have suffered with them for decades. But now with Jesus, I can knock them down every time they try to attack me. I recognize them for what they are, Satan’s attacks trying to make me sin. I speak God’s Word out loud and the fear stops, the rejection issues go away. You can’t think fear or rejection and speak Gods Word at the same time.  Break the grip with Gods Word or just speak Jesus Jesus Jesus. If you know a scripture speak that or the Lord’s prayer.

Whatever Satan is trying to use against you be it fear, anxiety, depression, addiction, whatever it is, speak God’s Word out loud. He can turn it around for your good.

Romans 8:28 and we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.

Heavenly Father knows every decision we need to make and every challenge we face. Don’t try to figure it out on your own, you don’t have to anymore. Accept Jesus and let the Holy Spirit give you strength, wisdom and direction.

If you believe Jesus died for your sins, rose from the grave and ascended to Heaven to prepare a place for you, ask Jesus to forgive you of your sins. Ask Him to come into your heart and for the Holy Spirit to please enter and live in you to lead, guide, teach, touch, heal and comfort you.

When you do, the Heavenly Father will hear you. He will accept the prayer of your heart.  At that moment the blood of Jesus will cleanse you of your sins. In that moment, the Holy Spirit will bear witness with your spirit that you have passed from death unto life. The peace of God will fill your mind and His peace will fill your heart. You will stand justified before God by faith. He will begin to mend the brokenhearted and bind up all their wounds. Then you can begin the process of walking in faith with Jesus as your Lord and Savior.

Can you hear His voice whispering your name, saying come to Me don’t run from Me, I’m all you need and I Am is calling.

If you accepted Jesus as your Lord and Savior, you have begun a new life in Jesus name. It is a journey that will take you through the rest of your life. Remember to thank God, to praise Him and to speak His Word out loud whenever you can. Whisper if you have to. God spoke the Words out loud when He was creating the earth. Jesus spoke the Words when He healed the sick, made the blind to see, cast out demons and resurrected the dead. His Words are powerful. Speak them whenever you can.

God Bless. Heal the broken-hearted, bind up all their wounds.
