Bible Strong-Little Sins, June 2020

A little sin here and a little sin there. A white lie leads to more lies to cover up the white lie, and then to outright lying just to get your way, or stay out of trouble. Before you know it, you have taken your eyes off Jesus and are away from the Shepherd who leads and guides you. When we think lightly of sin, we think lightly of our Savior and what He has done for us by shedding His blood for forgiveness of sins and eternal life. Turn back to Jesus quickly, before Satan pounces on you. He will be at your door to take you farther away from the Lord and the One who loves us.

Whether we look upon our sin as big sin or little sin, they are all serious sin to God. Unrepented sin separates us from Him. Sin is contrary to the will of God.

God doesn’t consider a white lie, a little lie and it is not acceptable to Him.

Revelation 21:8 But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burns with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.

Don’t think you can get away with cussing/profanity or using God’s name in vain. God hears you and doesn’t find that kind of speech acceptable.

Colossians 3:8 But now you must also rid yourselves of all such things as these: anger, rage, malice, slander, and filthy language from your lips.

Exodus 20:7 Thou shalt not take the name of the Lord thy God in vain; for the Lord will not hold him guiltless that takes his name in vain.

Some imagine that anger is okay and not a problem, but it can be. If it was okay the Lord wouldn’t tell us to get rid of it. He knows it opens the door to other sins.

Ephesians 4:31 Get rid of all bitterness, rage and anger, brawling and slander, along with every form of malice

James 1:20 for the anger of man does not produce the righteousness of God.

Do not play around with sin. A little lie, a little profanity, and occasional use of God’s name in vain, a little anger will all lead to bigger sins and none of it does God consider acceptable in His eyes.

Repent of your sins whether you see them as big or little. In God’s eyes they are the same because if they go unrepented, they separate you from Him. Look at your sin with the same seriousness our Holy God does.

1 John 1:19 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.

God bless. Heal the brokenhearted, bind up all their wounds.
