The Message-Prayer

God loves and cares about everything going on in your life, from the smallest to the largest issue, problem, or desire.

Prayer is a way to connect with the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. One thing that is consistent throughout the Bible, is that God wants us depending on Him, throughout our life. He is our Father and He wants to help us to live a victorious life, while we are on the earth.

John 15:5 I am the vine, ye are the branches, He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit, for without me ye can do nothing.

The Bible says that righteous people praying is powerful and effective. Something extraordinary happens when two or more people agree together in prayer. Jesus said:

Matthew 18:19 If two of you shall agree on earth as touching anything that

they shall ask, it shall be done for them of my Father which is in heaven.

The Lord has given us many gifts. One is prayer. He has given us the ability and privilege to reach heaven, to communicate with Him.

To pray is to let go and let God take over. It’s placing yourself in God’s hands for Him to do His will. Pray with your eyes on the Lord trusting that He hears you. Depend on Him.

2 Corinthians 12:10 When you have done everything you can do, that’s when God will step in and do what you can’t do.

1 John 5:14 This is the confidence we have toward him, that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us.

Prayer is about thanking and acknowledging what God has already done for you. It is to praise and worship Him, to bless Him. To especially thank Him for sending Jesus and the Holy Spirit. Thank Him for His love, grace and mercy, for without it we would not have forgiveness of sins and eternal life.

Prayer is used to ask for salvation, ask for forgiveness of sins, for healing, for the pulling down of strongholds and imaginations, to bind whatever is coming against you, to rebuke the devil in the Name of Jesus, to bless your loved ones and other people, to ask for help or strength in an area.

Prayer can heal the broken places inside you as well as your broken heart. His Word says He is close to the brokenhearted and that He will heal the brokenhearted and bind up all their wounds. Ask Him today to heal you and let the process begin. You won’t regret it.

Prayer should be your first response to a problem not the last resort. It doesn’t matter if it is a big problem or small problem. They are all small to God. Nothing is too hard for Him. Nothing is impossible with God.

Let your requests be known to God. Don’t underestimate the power of prayer. Pray to Him because He can move the mountains, part the water, make a crooked road straight, knock walls and blockades out of your way. He can make water pour from rocks and feed manna from heaven and quail to millions. He is our powerful God. He numbers the stars and knows them all by name. An awesome God.

Philippians 4:6-7 Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus.

One morning I wholeheartedly asked the Lord for His wisdom. An hour later I received a call from a ministry that calls me a couple times a year to check on me. He told me he called to pray for wisdom for me, and he did. Our God is a mighty, mighty, mighty great God. I am so grateful for Jesus.

He is so good to me. When I get in one of those times of need, He is always there for me. I know the Lord hears my prayers and I know from much experience He answers. It often amazes me how quickly He answers. Other times I have to wait patiently. I needed to hear from Him that morning and He was right on time. Thank You Jesus.

James 5:16 Pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective.

I sometimes use scripture in my prayers. It is God’s Word, His truth and His promises to us. An example would be Psalm 138.8 where He promises to perfect all things concerning me.

I know I fail Him all the time. I don’t want to but I do. So I ask for forgiveness and repeat the scripture in my prayer. I know He’s going to perfect me, not on this side. I will never be perfect and without sin until I reach heaven. But I stand firm, believe and receive His Word that one day He will perfect all things concerning me. Amen.

Another example would be when I find something hard or difficult for me to endure or to do whether it is children and grandchildren issues, ministry work, yardwork, or household things. I pray and ask for help and speak the scripture below.

Philippians 4:13 I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.

I believe and receive this scripture. With God there is nothing too hard or difficult for me. Without Him I can do nothing.

There are numerous scriptures you can speak when you pray regardless of the circumstances. Speak God’s Word in your prayers. They are powerful and God hears you.

Use prayer to move the mountains blocking you, to do away with the Goliaths in your path. Whatever they may be, addiction, anger, broken heart, pain, grief, past hurts, jealousy etc. God can move them out of your way. He can take them from you.

Psalm 46:1 God is our refuge and strength, always ready to help in times of trouble.

Psalm 121:1 I look up to the mountains—where does my help come from?

My help comes from the Lord, creator of heaven and earth.

Remember to pray whether you need something or not. Thank God for His goodness over you.

Psalm 116:2 Because He bends down to listen, I will pray as long as I have breath.

Pray as soon as you have a need. Come to His throne with boldness. His attention will turn to your need. Then wait on the Lord.

James 4:2 You have not because you ask not.

John 16:24 Ask using My name and you will receive.

Psalm 55:22 Cast your burden on the Lord and He will sustain you.

Trust and depend on Him to take care of you and all of your needs.

Matthew 11:28 Then Jesus said, Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest.

Jesus prays for all believers.

John 17:20-26 My prayer is not for them alone. I pray also for those who will believe in me through their message, that all of them may be one, Father, just as you are in me and I am in you. May they also be in us so that the world may believe that you have sent me.  I have given them the glory that you gave me, that they may be one as we are one—I in them and you in me—so that they may be brought to complete unity. Then the world will know that you sent me and have loved them even as you have loved me. Father, I want those you have given me to be with me where I am, and to see my glory, the glory you have given me because you loved me before the creation of the world. Righteous Father, though the world does not know you, I know you, and they know that you have sent me. I have made you known to them, and will continue to make you known in order that the love you have for me may be in them and that I myself may be in them.

God bless. Heal the brokenhearted, bind up all their wounds.
