The Message-Reading and Speaking God’s Word February 2020

John 1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

God’s Word is my daily bread. It teaches, strengthens, convicts, heals and comforts me. The Bible is our guide on how to live on the earth and teaches all about the Father, Jesus and Holy Spirit. You need the Word of God to grow and mature spiritually.

Matthew 4:4 Man shall not live by break alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God.

While living our lives today, we must filter everything through God’s Word. If you are confused about whether something is from God or not, ask yourself, does it contradict Scripture; will it make me sin; will it honor and glorify God? Anything that contradicts Scripture or will make you sin is not from God and it’s not okay.

Mark 13:31 Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will not pass away.

Matthew 4:4 Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God.

The Bible is not just a book, it is God talking to us. It’s God’s truth. It tells you how to live your life, how to behave, how to love and forgive, how to treat your enemies, and how to deal with your problems. It is your weapon to be used in defeating Satan and your enemies.

It renews your mind as you read it and shows us the Lord’s wisdom. Reading it lifts our spirits and helps us to see ourselves as we really are, so we can refocus our life and perspective. The Bible warns us when we are about to make a wrong choice or decision. It will redirect our path.

John 17:17 Sanctify them through thy truth, thy word is truth.

Reading the Bible is planting seeds that grow, ultimately transforming our character. It takes all our life for this sanctification process. Don’t give up. The Lord is still working on us. His Word says He will perfect us. Ask Him to.

Psalm 138:8 The Lord will perfect all things concerning me. Your mercy my Lord endures forever.

God has sometimes spoken to me so directly through His Word, many times during troubles. I don’t want to miss hearing Him that way. If you want to hear from God, open His Word and read it. He has a way through the scriptures to talk to you.

Couple examples:

As I sat down to read my Bible, I said a prayer before I began. One thing I was asking the Lord to help me with, was to endure all the trials of life we have to go through. I prayed He would give me the strength to go through them until He comes and gets us or I go to Him. I began reading

1 Corinthians 1:1. Seven verses in, the Lord gave me this:

1 Corinthians 1:7-9 now you have every spiritual gift you need as you eagerly wait for the return of our Lord Jesus Christ. He will keep you strong to the end so that you will be free from all blame on the day when our Lord Jesus Christ returns. God will do this for he is faithful to do what he says and he has invited you into partnership with his Son, Jesus Christ our Lord.

Some time ago, as I was praying about ministering at Tutwiler Prison I heard, I will never leave you. Peace swept over me. 30 minutes later I was reading a book and in it was this Scripture. It was confirmation.

Hebrews 13:5 For Jesus said, I will never leave you nor forsake you.

Many times the Lord has spoken to me using His Word. I document them because they are so important to me. As long as I’m alive, I believe the Lord will speak to me through His Word. He does it for all of His children who love Him and read His Word. He will for you as well. Ask Him to, then read His Word.

Romans 10:17 Faith comes by hearing and hearing through the word of God.

If you have a need today, ask the Lord to help you, to show you the way. Ask Him to speak to you directly through His Word. Then open your Bible and read His Word. Give Him the opportunity to speak to you today and give you what you need. His Word says you have not because you ask not. Ask Him today.

The Word of God is infallible, complete, authoritative and sufficient for all our needs and accomplishes what it promises. The Bible is to be obeyed. God reveals Himself to us within the pages.

Proverbs 30:5-6 Every word of God is flawless; he is a shield to those who take refuge in him. Do not add to his words or he will rebuke you and prove you a liar.

If you don’t know what God’s Word says, how are you going to live the life God has for you? How will you do God’s will if you aren’t reading the Bible that tells you what His will is?

The Bible doesn’t change. It has the answers you need to live a godly righteous life. Stand on God’s Word.

Isaiah 40:8 The grass withers and the flowers fade, but the word of God endures forever.

Reading God’s Word has the power to change us. It changes our thinking, our mindset and the way we speak and hear. Then it shows up in our behavior, in the way we treat others, in the way we love and forgive. Reading God’s Word helps us to make better choices and decisions in the 21st century.

Our thinking must be changed into new godly ways of thinking, therefore changing our mind set and behavior. What we know in our minds, forms a conviction in our hearts. That conviction in our hearts, turns into actions we take and words we speak.

Once you get God’s Word inside of you, He can direct your steps. Holy Spirit

can lead you in all aspects of your life that you yield to Him.

The Bible says to walk in His Word, seek it, speak it, learn it, take heed to it, hide it in your heart, rejoice in it, strengthen yourself according to it, incline your heart to it, be revived by it, direct your steps according to it and to write it on your heart.

Psalm 119:11 Thy word have I hid in my heart that I might not sin against thee.

You must get into the Word and learn what you have to do to keep Satan and his demons under your feet and out of your mind and body. The Bible tells you what to do to have power over your enemy and how to be victorious in your battles.

If the devil could keep anything from you, it would be your Bible.

Psalm 107:20 He sent out his word and healed them and saved them from their destruction.

Proverbs 4:20-22 My son, attend to my words; incline thy ear unto my sayings. Let them not depart from your eyes; keep them in the midst of your heart. They are life unto those that find them and health to all their flesh.

The only way to replace what Satan has put into our minds is with God’s truth which is His Word, the Bible. This renewing of the mind comes as believers study God’s Word. It gets in your mind and heart. It changes the way you think, how you respond to others and how you speak and act.

When Satan tested Jesus in the desert, it was after His baptism and He was on a 40 day fast. Satan always comes in our weakest moments. Satan waited until the end of the fast when Jesus was at His weakest. When Satan tempted Jesus, Jesus said: It is written and spoke from scripture. Each time Satan tempted Him, Jesus said: It is written and spoke from scripture.

When you are attacked or in a battle for your life, family, finances, children etc. run to His Word. Declare, It is written. When you begin to speak God’s Word, it becomes the living Word and it will bring you victory in Jesus Name.

We will be attacked by the enemy and persecuted. The Bible tells us we will have troubles and trials. When they happen speak God Word. I speak No weapon formed against me shall prosper, quite often. Where did I get that? From God’s written Word. When I speak it, it becomes alive, His living Word. Let it come alive for you as you speak it.

Hebrews 4:12 For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double edged sword it penetrates, even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart.

Speak God’s Word when you are in trouble, in a battle, hurting, lost, confused or when the walls are crumbling down around you. In the Name of Jesus come against the enemy. Hold up the Word of God, the sword of the Spirit, speak its words and use it to defeat every foe. I use it to conquer lies and false accusations, doubt, fear and sickness. I use it to gain strength, because I am weak but He is strong.

Satan hates God’s Word. Speak it so he can hear it. He can’t read your mind like God can. Speak Scripture and make Satan flee and leave you alone in the Name of Jesus.

Jeremiah 23:29 Is not my word like fire, declares the Lord, and like a hammer that breaks a rock in pieces?

Use that hammer against Satan. Speak God’s Word and he will flee.

If you need a victory, the ammunition you need to fight against the enemy is in God’s Word. Hold in one hand the shield of Faith and with the other, the sword of the Spirit which is God’s Word.

In the storm, speak out loud, I trust You Jesus, regardless of how you feel.

Every wicked thing before me I will fight it. Nothing can separate me from my God. The devil is a liar, the Father of lies.

Jeremiah 5:14 I will make the words in your mouth a fire.

The devil tried to destroy you. He tried to kill you. He tried to drive you crazy with worry and fear. He left you here down and out, crushed with no hope. Let Jesus lift you back up, give you your joy back. Get your fight back and fight that devil. He’s a murder, a liar. Nothing he tells you is true or good for you to hear. How do you know it’s from Satan? It goes against God’s Word. Never dwell on it, never speak it and never act on anything Satan tells you. Instead magnify Jesus, lift His Name on high, praise His Name and speak His Word.

If fear or doubt ever comes my way, I speak God’s word, in a whisper if circumstances dictate. Guess what, the fear and doubt stop, and now it rarely shows up anymore. You can’t think fear and doubt and speak Gods Word at the same time. Break the grip of fear, anxiety, and depression, whatever it is, speak Gods Word or just speak Jesus Jesus Jesus.

Ready yourselves and prepare for battle. Shake your fist at Satan, at the wicked ones. Defy Satan. I spit in his eye. Hold the shield of faith and the sword of the Spirit which is the Word of God and charge against them in the Name of Jesus like a warrior. The Lord says, fear not for I am with you. The Lord will lead the fight of your battles. Ask Him to.

Remember to thank God, to praise Him and to speak His Word whenever you can. Whisper if you have to.

God spoke the Words out loud when He was creating the earth. Jesus spoke the Words when He healed the sick, made the blind to see, cast out demons and resurrected the dead. His Words are powerful they are alive. He also spoke them to Satan in the desert when Satan was tempting Him. Speak them.

Some examples:

No weapon formed against me shall prosper.

Let God arise and my enemies be scattered.

Greater is He that is in me than he that is in this world.

I am more than a conqueror through Christ who loves me.

I am covered by the blood of Jesus.

I am the righteousness of God through Jesus Christ.

Jesus, Jesus, Jesus.

Let my enemies be confounded and put to shame.

Though my enemies surround me, my God surrounds my enemies.

Though they come at me one way they will flee from me seven ways.

Every evil thing that rises up against me I condemn it.

Satan shall have no place in my life. Let him that stole, steal no more.

The thief comes but to steal, kill and to destroy. Jesus came so we may have life and have it more abundantly.

If my God is for me, who can be against me.

Nothing shall be able to separate me from the love of God.

Lord, take my thoughts captive unto the obedience of Jesus Christ.

Get behind me Satan. You and your demons have no place in my mind, body or life because I am a Child of God.

I have many I speak depending on the circumstances. Pick some out for yourself as you read His Word.

Let His words be heard with your ears, flow over your tongue and settle in your heart and mind. It will give you strength and wisdom to make good decisions.

Jeremiah 20:9 His word burns in my heart like a fire. It’s like a fire in my bones.

Smith Wigglesworth-“The Bible is the Word of God: supernatural in origin, eternal in duration, inexpressible in valor, infinite in scope, regenerative in power, infallible in authority, universal in interest, personal in application, inspired in totality. Read it through, write it down, pray it in, work it out, and then pass it on. Truly it is the Word of God. It brings into man the personality of God; it changes the man until he becomes the epistle of God. It transforms his mind, changes his character, takes him on from grace to grace, and gives him an inheritance in the Spirit. God comes in, dwells in, walks in, talks through, and sups with him.”

There is a great reward reading, speaking and living by God’s Word. God sees, He knows and He will reward you. Your life is made more abundant while you are on the earth. Jesus said: I am come so you may have life and have it more abundantly.

The more time we spend reading and speaking His Word, the closer we become to Him. So, knock that dust off, read it and let the Lord speak to you.

No one can love you like Jesus does. It’s hard to imagine Jesus’ love. Just look at the cross, His hands and feet, His scars and you will begin to see how much He loves you.

Lord, Thank You for Your counsel, for communicating with me through Your Word. I hide Your Word in my heart Lord. I hear, speak, live, share and obey Your Word. I love Your Word. I have to have it. I cannot and will not live without it.

God bless. Heal the brokenhearted, bind up all their wounds.
