Bible Strong-Revelation Nov. 2016

Based on David Jeremiah Study Bible

There is a special blessing for those who will read the book of Revelation.

Revelation 1:3 Blessed is the one who reads aloud the words of this prophecy, and blessed are those who hear it and take to heart what is written in it, because the time is near.

When you read it, you will see the Lord wins, Jesus is victorious. Righteousness prevails and Satan loses. Sorrow, sickness and death are no longer. A new heaven and earth come from the ashes of the old. God Himself will wipe away the tears from our eyes.

During Apostle John’s exile on the island of Patmos, the risen, glorified Jesus Christ showed Himself to His beloved disciple. What John saw was Jesus in all His glory: His white head and hair, eyes of fire, feet of brass, a voice as the sound of many waters and His countenance was like the sun shining in all of its strength. When John saw His beloved Savior, he fell at Jesus feet as if he were dead.

Jesus told him to write it down in a book what he saw, the things which are and the things to come. John had no idea the implications his writings would have in the life of all Christians as well as all humanity for centuries to come. These were words of prophecy describing the things which will take place. They tell us about future events. Much of Revelation is written by using signs and symbols and we must have ears to hear to understand their meaning.

Jesus is mentioned 26 times in Revelation as the Lamb who was slain for the sins of the world. He is the glorified Lamb, the worshiped Lamb, the magnifying Lamb and the vindicated Lamb. This same Lamb returns to slay those who rebel against God. He will reign as Lord of Lords and King of Kings.

Revelation tells of spiritual warfare taking place on the earth. Satan, his demons and representatives are fighting against God Almighty’s power and authority. Satan tries to deceive all the world and turn them against God and to him. All who believe Satan’s lies will turn and follow him. For all of us who have read the book of Revelation, we know God wins the spiritual battle. We also know Satan will be punished forever for his rebellion against God.

In reading the last book of the Bible, we see that Christ delivers believers

through the storms during earth’s final age. Christians are destined to reign with Christ and not be punished by Him.

The New Jerusalem that comes down from heaven to earth fulfills Christ’s promise of going away to prepare a dwelling place for His followers. The people of God will worship God and the Lamb. Many times we read about all of heaven worshipping God and the Lamb and we will too because they alone are worthy.

When the heartache of this world weighs us down, when the storms try to drown us, we only need to look to Jesus. Lift your hands like a drowning man and Jesus will not let go of you. Look ahead at the wonderful life without ending we will have with Jesus. We can finish this life on earth with Jesus as our Guide and Helper. We can soar on the wings of the eagles in Jesus Name. Patient endurance is what we need now! Worthy is the Lamb who was slain.

Revelation 5:13…Worthy is the Lamb who was slain to receive power and riches and wisdom and strength and honor and glory and blessing!

God bless. Heal the brokenhearted, bind up all their wounds.
