Bible Strong-Satan Attacks God’s Word, Feb. 2020

It began long ago in the Garden of Eden and continues. In this scripture God gave direct instructions and Satan uses doubt to get to Eve. He’s saying, no God didn’t mean that, it’s okay, go ahead and eat it. God set boundaries and Satan wanted them moved for his purposes.

Adam and Eve did eat and death was born. It was not supposed to be this way. This is not what God intended for His creations.

Genesis 3:1-4 The serpent was the shrewdest of all the wild animals the Lord God had made. One day he asked the woman, Did God really say you must not eat the fruit from any of the trees in the garden? Of course we may eat fruit from the trees in the garden, the woman replied. It’s only the fruit from the tree in the middle of the garden that we are not allowed to eat. God said, You must not eat it or even touch it; if you do, you will die. You won’t die! The serpent replied to the woman.

Without God’s Word to lead and guide us, we would be stumbling through this life. Everything God wants us to know about Himself is in His Word. He tells us about His goodness, His blessings, principles and promises, how we are to behave and treat others, how to live and how to forgive. He also tells us about holding us accountable for our actions, His discipline. He tells us how to be saved and what to do once we are, and so much more. Thank God for His Word. It truly is a lamp unto our feet and a light unto our pathway.

Psalm 119:105 Your word is a lamp to guide my feet and a light for my path.

Satan will do whatever he can to see that God’s Word doesn’t make it into our hearts. It is possible for Satan to snatch away the Word of God. Jesus tells a parable to illustrate this.

Luke 8 5-8 One day Jesus told a story in the form of a parable to a large crowd that had gathered from many towns to hear him: A farmer went out to plant his seed. As he scattered it across his field, some seed fell on a footpath, where it was stepped on, and the birds ate it. Other seed fell among rocks. It began to grow, but the plant soon wilted and died for lack of moisture. Other seed fell among thorns that grew up with it and choked out the tender plants.  Still other seed fell on fertile soil. This seed grew and produced a crop that was a hundred times as much as had been planted! When he had said this, he called out, anyone with ears to hear should listen and understand.

Jesus explained: The seed is the Word of God. The ones along the path are those who have heard, then the devil comes and takes away the word from their hearts so they may not believe and be saved.

For the unbeliever it is easy for Satan to snatch it away before it gets inside their hearts. Satan himself blinds the minds of unbelievers, those already living far from God, so they will not come to the place of belief in their lives.

For the believer who is steadfast in their love for Jesus will bear much fruit in the Name of Jesus. They will tell others about Jesus and share all His wonderful good deeds, so others may see His goodness and want to be part of His family.

Luke 8:15 As for the good soil, they are those who hearing the word, hold it fast in an honest and good heart, and bear fruit with patience.

Thousands of years since Satan began attacking God’s Word, he is still at it. He’s trying to place doubt in your mind, confuse you and get you to doubt God. Satan is centered on denying, disputing, and defiling the Word of God.

Cherish God’s Word and hold onto it in your heart. Let His Words flow over your tongue and be heard with your ears. Allowing it to protect, defend, empower and guard your mind, body and soul. Faithfully write God’s Word on your heart. It is the Sword of the Spirit for use against every battle that comes your way.

God bless. Heal the brokenhearted, bind up all their wounds.
