The Message-Satan the Accuser, June 2020

The Bible calls him the devil, Lucifer and Satan, the accuser and deceiver of the whole world. Satan seduces humans into sin. He uses all manner of deception, lying and tempting to get us to turn away from the Lord. Satan is always accusing followers of Jesus, before God. The Bible says, day and night.

Revelation 12:10 And I heard a loud voice saying in Heaven, Now have come salvation and strength, and the Kingdom of our God, and the power of His Christ; for the accuser of our brethren is cast down, who accused them before our God day and night.

When Satan sees a Christian struggling, he attacks. He may see you feeling weak, rejected, hurt, betrayed or abandoned by a loved one. You may feel all alone, like God is nowhere around, or that He doesn’t care about you and what you are going through. Desperate, you may be ready to give up, because you are vulnerable in your pain.

Seeing your pain, Satan attacks you, because you are weak in those moments. Just as Satan did with Job, he goes before God accusing you of doubting God or having little faith in God. He may accuse you of not being a Christian at all. He will lie and accuse you of everything he can. Satan says to God that we don’t really love Him, only what He does for us, that we only want His hand, not His love. He tells God to remove His blessings from us and take what we have and we will curse God to His face.

Job 1:10-12 Have you not placed a hedge on every side around him and his household and all that he owns? You have blessed the work of his hands and his possessions have increased in the land. But stretch out your hand and strike all that he has and he will surely curse you to your face. Very well said the Lord to Satan. Everything he has is in your hands, but you must not lay a hand on the man himself. Then Satan went out from the presence of the Lord.

Jesus has experienced rejection, temptation, persecution, grief and sorrow when He was on this earth in human form. He has gone through everything we do, so He can pray for us in our weaknesses. He intercedes with Father God for us. Thank You Jesus for being our Advocate before God.

Jesus sees your temptations, pain, sorrow, grief and rejection. When He intercedes with God, He may tell Him, you are a child of God, forgiven of all your sins, going through a storm or the fire. He may ask God to give you grace, encouragement, peace and strength, and for Holy Spirit to empower you so you can get through this troubled time. Also to give you the strength you need to resist the devil so he will flee. You belong to Jesus and Satan cannot have you.

Hebrews 2:18 For in that he himself has suffered, being tempted, he is able to aid those who are tempted.

Hebrews 7:25 Therefore he is able, once and forever, to save those who come to God through him. He lives forever to intercede with God on their behalf.

Satan has come for us, all of us. He was thrown out of heaven and his angels with him. He hit the earth with both feet and he’s going to and fro in the earth, searching for those he can destroy. Especially the followers of Jesus. He is like a raging bull, filled with anger. He doesn’t have much time and he knows it.

1 Peter 5:8-9 Discipline yourselves, keep alert. Like a roaring lion your adversary the devil prowls around looking for someone to devour. Resist him, steadfast in your faith, for you know that your brothers and sisters in all the world are undergoing the same kinds of suffering.

2 Corinthians 2:11 …that we would not be outwitted by Satan; for we are not ignorant of his designs.

The enemy will attack you over and over again. His goal is to get you away from Jesus. To have you question or doubt your faith in Jesus. The enemy will place temptations, distractions and fear in your path. You must stand strong in your faith, no matter the circumstances. No matter the hurt, pain, grief or sorrow you feel, Jesus is there for you. He will never leave you and will walk through every circumstance with you. He will take you to the other side. You will be stronger for it. When we are weak, He is strong. Let Him take you through the fire and get you to the other side. God will take what the enemy has done to you and turn it around for your good. The enemy can’t win against God. Through the blood of Jesus we have victory.

Romans 5:3-5 More than that, we rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that suffering produces endurance, and endurance produces character, and character produces hope, and hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who has been given to us.

1 Peter 5:10 And after you have suffered a little while, the God of all grace, who has called you to his eternal glory in Christ, will himself restore, confirm, strengthen, and establish you.

Romans 8:28 And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose.

God bless. Heal the brokenhearted, bind up all their wounds.
