The Message-Saved, August 2020

Jesus tells us to come to Him. He says, believe in Me and you shall be saved. He didn’t say, clean yourself up first or stop sinning first and then you will be saved. He knows this is impossible for humans. He wouldn’t have to die on the cross if we could do it without Him. It is only when Holy Spirit comes to live inside of us that we are able to change. We can’t do it on our own, but Jesus does it through Holy Spirit who convicts us and empowers us.

He also doesn’t say that, if I come to gather my Bride (Rapture) that only those who are saved who have totally stopped sinning and gotten everything right will be going. No. If that were the case none of us would be going with Him. Heaven would be empty of humans. If you have accepted Jesus in your heart, you will be going to be where Jesus is. Even if you have only been saved 5 minutes.

John 14:2-3 In my Father’s house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.

The thief on the cross is a good example to cite in this regard. A wicked sinner he was, as he hung on a cross next to Jesus. He believed in Jesus and wanted to be with Jesus, while he was on the cross. He couldn’t go and try to fix himself and get things right, to grow and mature in the Lord, in order to go with Jesus. Once he believed in Jesus in his heart, that was enough. He was saved and would be with Jesus in heaven that very day.

Today, Jesus said. Not when you mature as a Christian, not when you get everything right, because you never will. Today, because Jesus paid the price for your sins, all of them. Today, because He knew you couldn’t fix yourself. We do not have any righteousness, or right standing with God, without Jesus. Compared to Jesus, at our best, we are but filthy rags. God’s standard is perfect righteousness and no one who ever walked on earth has that, only Jesus.

Luke 23:42-43 Then he said, Jesus, remember me when You come into Your kingdom! And Jesus said to him, Truly I tell you, today you will be with me in Paradise.

2 Corinthians 5:21 For God made Christ, who never sinned, to be the offering for our sin, so that we could be made right with God through Christ.

Isaiah 64:6 But we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousness are as filthy rags; and we all do fade as a leaf, and our iniquities, like the wind, have taken us away.

Just like the thief on the cross, some have deathbed confessions of faith in Jesus. They accept Jesus right before they die. And like the thief on the cross, there is no time to grow and mature in the Lord. No time to change their ways. No time to undo their wickedness and ask for forgiveness from others. Regardless, if they accepted Jesus in their heart, they will be going to heaven as the Lord has forgiven them of their sins. The Lord will perfect them and all of us before we enter the gates of heaven. The things that need changing in us will be changed, by the Lord Jesus.

Psalm 138:8 The Lord will perfect that which concerns me. Your mercy O Lord endures forever.

2 Corinthians 17-19 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come. All this is from God who through Christ reconciled us to himself and gave us the ministry of reconciliation; that is, in Christ, God was reconciling the world to himself, not counting their trespasses against them, and entrusting to us the message of reconciliation.

So, what must someone do in order to be saved?

Acts 16:31 Believe in the Lord Jesus Christ and you will be saved.

Romans 10:9-10 because, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes and is justified, and with the mouth one confesses and is saved.

Our God is loving, merciful, gracious and long suffering. The Bible also tells us He is a God who loves justice. He treats every person using the same standard, which is: Have you been reconciled to Me through Jesus? Have you accepted Jesus as your Lord and Savior? If not, then His wrath will show itself against you and you must pay for your sins instead of Jesus.

Jesus Christ will be Lord of your life, or He will be Your Judge. Every person must decide for themselves. You have two choices. Accept Jesus as your Lord and Savior, which is an offer of reconciliation with God, through the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. Or you can pay the penalty for your sins yourself, as Jesus judges you. You don’t have to do anything to pick that choice. Doing nothing is choosing to pay for your sins yourself. This option results in you being judged guilty by God and sentenced to hell for eternity. That is the only outcome for this choice. No do overs later, no mercy and separation from God forever. There is no mercy in hell.

Satan lived in heaven with God. He knows he can’t go back to heaven to live, so he wants to keep you from going as well. His mission is to take as many people to hell with him as he can. He wants none going to heaven.

It’s your choice. No one will force us to believe in Jesus and all He has done for us. I plant this seed today and pray it gets watered, that a harvest of souls will come to Jesus. You will never regret this decision. May souls be saved in the Name of Jesus.

God bless. Heal the brokenhearted, bind up all their wounds.
