Tutwiler-Savior and Helper

When we accept Jesus as our Lord and Savior the Holy Spirit aligns with our spirit and confirms that we are now children of God. We become sealed through Jesus in heavenly places. We are given eternal life because of what Jesus has done on the cross. All our sins are forgiven.

God has given believers His Holy Spirit to take care of us while we are on the earth. The Holy Spirit is a gift. He is the third person of the Trinity, Father, Son and Holy Spirit. He is the power of God, the presence of God and brings gifts and talents. He is gentle, peaceful, loving, and kind.

A person is made up of a body, soul and spirit. Our soul is our mind, will and emotions. We have thoughts, desires and feelings.

The Holy Spirit also has a mind, will, emotions, thoughts, desires and feelings. He exalts and glorifies Jesus. He teaches us what He hears from Jesus and the Father.

God gave His Son to die for us and appointed His Spirit to be man’s Comforter and Teacher. He inspires and convicts us, reveals scripture to us and He gives spiritual gifts as He pleases. He leads, guides, and He’s a healer.

When we acknowledge that we can’t live this life on our own, that our best just isn’t enough, the Holy Spirit steps in to help us. You must invite Him in otherwise He will stay in the background.

The Lord already knew you would fall along the way. God knows everything you have and will go through. He knows the end from the beginning. He knows about your childhood and how you were raised. He knows about the ones who sexually abused you, physically abused you and about the emotional scars that have wounded you.

He knows about the abortion, that same sex experience, and all about the stealing, lies, deception and addictions that have been a part of your life. God knows all of the secret things you have done.

God took all of that into consideration and He still chose you to be His own. He has made a provision for all of it through Jesus and the Holy Spirit. He has provided a Savior and a Helper because He knows you need help to get through this life on earth. He’s waiting on you to realize it and invite Him into your life.

I was with my son Zack, 2 July, 2015 when he took his last breath on this earth, when his color changed before my eyes. His death was so sudden and he was a young man, 35. Once he was diagnosed it was less than 4 months and he was gone. My grief was so deep, day after day month after month. I just kept grieving and crying. It was like I couldn’t get it out of me. I quit going to church services for a long while because I couldn’t keep from breaking down from grieving his loss, in church every time I went.

Where I was hurting was way down deep. After many months I cried out to God to take the grieving, the mourning from me. I had to acknowledge that I couldn’t fix this on my own, that I needed help from God to get through this life without Zack. I told Him I couldn’t live with the grief anymore. I have a daughter, Rachel, her husband and two children, Skyler and Jaden, and Zack’s son Drake who still need me, as well as the Christian Internet Ministry and ministering to the women of Tutwiler Prison the Lord has asked me to do. I needed God’s help to continue living.

When your pain is deep, when it is real deep, you need God who can go way down on the inside of you and pull it up out of you by the roots. I was hurting so bad, I was broken, but still needed to move forward to finish this life on earth.

I am convinced He was waiting on me to cry out to Him for help. It was only when I submitted to Him, when I told Him I couldn’t do this anymore, couldn’t take it anymore, when I came to the end of my own efforts and asked Him to take the grieving and mourning from me, that He came and took it.

Through the power of the Holy Spirit, He took my grief and pulled that hurt and pain out of me so I could live out the rest of my days. Thank You Jesus. He strengthened me and brought a peace to me I couldn’t get on my own no matter how hard I tried.

Psalm 29:11 The Lord will give strength unto his people, the Lord will bless people with peace.

When I gave Him control, I acknowledged my need for His Presence. I acknowledged that I can’t control or stop cancer or death and I couldn’t handle the aftermath of it either. I had to turn it over to God. He is the only One who can fix you and me. Then and only then, did grief began coming out of my spirit.

Psalm 147:3 He healeth the broken in heart, and bindeth up their wounds.

That doesn’t mean I don’t still miss Zack, I do. It doesn’t mean I don’t cry from the separation with Zack, I do. It does mean the Lord has strengthened me so that I don’t breakdown all the time. So I can continue to meet the needs of my daughter Rachel and her husband, my three grandchildren and the ministry God has given me. It means I can finish the race the Lord has given me. Zack would want me to.

Psalm 50:15 And call upon me in the day of trouble, I will deliver thee, and thou shalt glorify me.

Until I am called home to be with Jesus, I have to continue in this life and you do too. I want to honor and glorify God by telling others about Jesus, be obedient, and continue taking care of my loved ones and the ministry the Lord has honored me with. I’m sure I will have to go back to the well to be renewed again and again before this life is over. I am dependent on the Lord and that is a good thing.

The Lord wants us to be overcomers in this life. With God’s help you can overcome anything. Trust in Him. He will never leave you nor forsake you.

1 John 5:5 Who is he that overcometh the world, but he that believeth that Jesus is the Son of God?

Revelation 3:21 To him that overcometh will I grant to sit with me in my throne, even as I also overcame, and am set down with my Father in his throne.

Matthew 1:20 But while he thought on these things, behold, the angel of the Lord appeared unto him in a dream, saying, Joseph, thou son of David, fear not to take unto thee Mary thy wife, for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Ghost.

He knows God’s thoughts:

1 Corinthians 2:11 The Spirit searches all things, even the deep things of God. For who among men knows the thoughts of a man except the man’s spirit within him? In the same way no one knows the thoughts of God except the Spirit of God.

He aligns with our spirit:

Romans 8:16 The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God.

The mind of God is inside you. The Spirits thoughts are Gods thoughts. He helps us to think like God thinks and to desire what God desires. He wants us to do Gods will, not our will. He wants to help us be more like Jesus. We need to be willing vessels, yielding to Him, obeying Him, so He can work in and through us. If we don’t obey, it hinders His workings. Talk to Him throughout the day. Be aware of Him, He lives inside you. God lives inside you.

God wants to lift us out of the mire of brokenness, desperation and sin. He wants us to realize this world isn’t all there is. It isn’t our final home. He’s getting us ready for eternity, for heaven.

I hope you will turn over all of your grief, disappointments, broken dreams, hurts and pains to Jesus. Let Him heal you and bring you peace that only He can give. He will do a new thing in you. He will give you a new dream, one that is in alignment with His plan for you. He will help you finish this race on earth.

God bless. Heal the broken-hearted, bind up all their wounds.
