Shout It Out-Spirit Man, March 2021

God lives in you through Holy Spirit. Your spirit senses things from Holy Spirit and it is given to you. It is one way to hear God in non-verbal language. There is a knowing, an impression, and unction that rises up in you. Holy Spirit will let you know if a thing is good or bad, right or wrong, whether you should be at peace with something or not, which direction you need to go, or if you should be still. When you are at peace with an issue, this usually means there is an alignment between Holy Spirit and your spirit, or this is the direction you need to go in or not go in if you don’t have peace within.

We don’t want Holy Spirit pulling back from us. To sadden Holy Spirit is to act out in a sinful manner. When we do what we know is wrong, we push back, suppress or quench the Spirit. We do not allow the Spirit to reveal Himself fully.

Do you really want to have that temper fit, curse at someone, lie, not forgive, gossip, get drunk etc.? Ask yourself if it is really worth the cost. Hopefully you see, you need to value and protect the presence of God more than you need to argue, curse, lie etc.

Sin hinders Holy Spirit when a believer follows their own worldly desires. Only our obedience to God allows the Spirit freedom to work within us in full measure. When we sin, we should immediately confess it to God and ask forgiveness.

We want Him reigning fully in our lives. We need to cooperate with Him so we can have the Spirit without measure. We must yield, surrender and obey Him.

1 Thessalonians 5:19 Quench not the Spirit.

How discouraging it is to know that at this point in my life and relationship with precious Jesus, that I still don’t always do the right things. I can’t dwell on it though. I will never get all things right on this earth. That is why I need my Savior Jesus. He gets all things right, all the time. I want to live my life honoring and glorifying Jesus, walking in the Spirit, not in the flesh to my detriment. I rise up against discouragement and Satan in the Holy Name of Jesus.

Ecclesiastes 7:20 Indeed there is not a righteous man on earth, who continually does good and who never sins.

I know I fail Him way too many times. I don’t want to but I do anyway. Our flesh is so weak. We know what is the right thing to do or say and sometimes we do exactly what our flesh wants us to, disregarding Holy Spirit who lives inside of us. As we yield more and more to Him, the more we walk in the Spirit.

The Holy Spirit is working in me all the time. He’s transforming my thoughts, words and actions to be more Christ like. It will take my entire life to get to where I need to be and even then, God will have to perfect all things concerning me so I can enter through the gates of heaven. He began working in me the day I accepted Jesus and continues to this day.

Psalm 138:8 The Lord will perfect that which concerns me. Your mercy, O Lord, endures forever; Do not forsake the works of Your hands.

Philippians 1:6 being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.

One of the unpardonable sins is not accepting Jesus as Lord and Savior and another is grieving Holy Spirit. This means to blasphemy against Holy Spirit who is God, by attributing His works or the works of God to the devil.

An example is found in Matthew 12:22-32. Please read it for yourself as well. Jesus was speaking with the Pharisees after healing a man who was blind, could not hear and was possessed with a devil. The Pharisees rationalized that Jesus cast out the devil by the power of Beelzebub, the prince of devils. The Pharisees are crediting the works and power of Holy Spirit to the works and power of Satan.

Mark 3:28-29 Truly I tell you, the sons of men will be forgiven all sins and blasphemies, as many as they utter. But whoever blasphemes against the Holy Spirit will never be forgiven; he is guilty of eternal sin…

Matthew 12:32 Whoever speaks a word against the Son of Man will be forgiven, but whoever speaks against the Holy Spirit will not be forgiven, either in this age or in the one to come.

Ephesians 4:30 And grieve not the Holy Spirit of God whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption.

It isn’t likely a Christian would grieve Holy Spirit, to say the miracles and works of God were done by Satan and his evil power. Only someone who rejected God would say such a thing.

Christian, walk in the Spirit and not in the flesh and you will never grieve Holy Spirit!!

God bless. Heal the brokenhearted, bind up all their wounds.
