Bible Strong-Standing on His Promises

December 2020

God’s Word tells us of Him providing for His people whether it was for food, shelter, comfort, land, hope etc. The Bible gives many promises for blessings, hope, love, grace, mercy, forgiveness, eternal life with Him and a heavenly inheritance. God made thousands of promises to us. These promises will never be broken.

2 Corinthians 1:20 For all the promises of God in Him are yes, and in Him Amen, to the glory of God through us.

His promise says I am with you always, call upon me and I will answer you, be faithful until death and I will give you the crown of life. I will show you great and mighty things that you know not, draw near to me and I will draw near to you.

Psalm 50:15 Call upon Me in the day of trouble; I will deliver you and you shall glorify Me.

Jeremiah 29:12 Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you.

Revelation 2:10 Do not fear any of those things which you are about to suffer. Indeed, the devil is about to throw some of you into prison, that you may be tested, and you will have tribulation ten days. Be faithful until death, and I will give you the crown of life.

James 4:8 Draw near to God and He will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners; and purify your hearts, you double-minded.

Matthew 28:19-20 Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age. Amen.

His promise says if you seek you will find, if you knock the door will be opened, if you ask you will receive, if you give it will be given unto you, pressed down running over.

Luke 11:9-10 So I say to you, Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks the door will be opened.

Luke 6:38 Give, and it will be given to you: good measure, pressed down, shaken together, and running over will be put into your bosom. For with the same measure that you use, it will be measured back to you.

God’s promises say if you serve Him, you will soar on the wings of the eagles, you will run and not grow weary, you will walk and not be faint, He will fight for you.

Isaiah 40:31 They shall mount up with wings like eagles, they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint.

Exodus 14:14 The Lord shall fight for you, and ye shall hold your peace.

His promise says if you believe in Me, you shall never die, that nothing can ever separate you from the love of God. That all things work together for the good of those who love the Lord.

John 11:26 And whoever lives and believes in Me shall never die. Do you believe this?

Romans 8:38-39 For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Romans 8:28 And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.

When the world’s promises fail, God’s promises in His Word endure forever.

Though the grass may wither and the flower may fade the Word of the Lord endures forever.

1 Peter 1:22-25 Having purified your souls by your obedience to the truth for a sincere brotherly love, love one another earnestly from a pure heart, since you have been born again, not of perishable seed but of imperishable, through the living and abiding word of God; for all flesh is like grass and all its glory like the flower of grass. The grass withers and the flower falls, but the word of the Lord remains forever.

Sometimes as we are going through trials and storms we forget God’s promises and choose to whine instead. We may ask why God, why me? Why do I have to go through this? We grumble about how hard life is. I’m guilty too. For a minute we forget that God’s Word promises us that no weapon formed against us shall prosper. That God is for you so who can be against you. Rather than believe that greater is He that is in you than he that is in the world, we wring our hands, have sleepless nights, doubt or become fearful.

Isaiah 54:17 no weapon formed against you will prosper, and you will refute every tongue that accuses you. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord, and this is their vindication from me declares the Lord.

Romans 8:31 What shall we say about such wonderful things as these? If God is for us, who can ever be against us?

1 John 4:4 You are of God, little children, and have overcome them, because He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world.

We must get these promises in our hearts and minds so when the trials come and they will, we can stand on God’s promises protecting us from the enemy who wants nothing but to place fear and doubt in our minds as he attacks us. Don’t allow yourself to have a defeated mindset, don’t be the victim when you are a child of the most-high God.

Stand on His Word so your mindset will be, if God is for us who can be against us, I am more than a conqueror through Christ who strengthens me, no weapon formed against me shall prosper. Speak and declare God’s promises in your life and especially when the enemy attacks you. Remember when God gave Noah a rainbow as a sign that He keeps His promises? He was faithful to Noah and He is faithful to those who love Him. Hold onto God’s promises that He is with you in every situation you find yourself in.

There are literally thousands of promises in His Word. God’s Word tells you what you can be. It tells you everything Jesus has done for you, and all the blessings and promises He has for you as a child of God. He tells you over and over, He will not leave you nor fail you. This promise is found in several books of the Bible, old and new Testaments. He is always with us.

Jeremiah 29:11 For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.

Isaiah 41:10, Deuteronomy 31:6, Hebrews 13:5-8 Be strong and of good courage, do not fear nor be afraid of them for the Lord your God, He is the One who goes with you. He will not leave you nor forsake you.

No matter what you are going through today, there is a promise for you from God, to help and sustain you. Stand upon it. Read it and speak it. Look to the Lord in your day of trouble and He will lead and guide you and never leave you. He will make a way where there seems to be no way. He can part the waters for you to walk through with Him. He will not allow the waters to drown you nor the fire to burn you.

Isaiah 43:19 God will make a way where there seems to be no way.

Isaiah 43:2 When you pass through deep waters I will be with you; and when you pass through the rivers they will not sweep over you. When you walk through the fire you will not be burned; the flames will not set you ablaze.

Deuteronomy 31:8 The Lord himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid or discouraged.

Trials will come and storms will fall on us. The waters will rise and we will be shaken. But there is firm ground to stand on in the promises God has given us. Whatever comes against you causing you doubt and fear there is a promise you can trust. Whatever you are facing God is greater. Nothing is too hard for our God. By faith you can live an abundant life in Jesus Christ.

John 10:10 The thief comes to steal, kill and to destroy but I have come so you may have life and have it more abundantly.

1 John 2:25 And this is the promise that he made to us-eternal life.

God bless. Heal the brokenhearted, bind up all their wounds.
