Shout It Out-The Gift of Today, March 2019

You woke up today. The Lord has given you another day to live on this earth. Another day to bless others, to share His Word and to tell someone about Jesus. He has given you more time to spend with your family, friends, loved ones and coworkers. He has given you the gift of life today. Another chance to make a difference in someone’s life.

Job 33:4 The Spirit of God has made me and the breath of the Almighty gives me life.

Today you have 86,400 seconds to do with as you will. Many went to bed last night and did not wake up today. Their time on this earth is over. God called them to come to Him. Let us be thankful for the time He gives us. Remember to use one of those seconds today to thank God for this day He has blessed you with.

Psalm 118:24 This is the day the Lord has made. Let us rejoice and be glad in it.

When we woke up God gave us a gift called today. What we do with it is our gift to God. Will you use it to bless and encourage others? Will you share God’s Word so others may know Him? Will you help the widow down the street or the child without a father?

Choose to love more, forgive more quickly, show mercy to others whether they deserve it or not and be slow to anger, just as God does for us.

Today don’t complain about food. There are many who have nothing to eat. Before you complain about your life, think about all those who died at a young age. When about to complain about your children, remember all those who have lost their children to death. Today before you point your finger in condemnation, remember that all have sinned and come short of the glory of God. When the day gets you down, thank God you are still around to live it. Lay your burdens down at the feet of our Savior Jesus, daily.

Philippians 2:14 Do all things without complaining, murmurings and disputing.

Time is free but money can’t buy it. You can only use it, you can’t keep it. Once it is gone, it is gone forever. You can’t get it back. Let us use our time wisely and not use it worrying about tomorrow or yesterday. Let us focus on today and doing God’s will.

1Peter 5:7 Today I will cast my cares on the Lord for He cares for me.

Tomorrow is a thief. The what if’s of tomorrow will rob you of today if you let it. We tend to stress over what may happen tomorrow. We imagine bad things happening, to us, our loved ones and our finances. We imagine catastrophic events happening tomorrow. Don’t let the thief steal today from you.

Matthew 6:34 So don’t worry about tomorrow for tomorrow will bring it’s own worries. Today’s trouble is enough for today.

Yesterday wants to rob you of today. Yesterday leads you to regrets. It wants your mind to focus on all the bad things you have done. All the bad things that have been done to you. Yesterday is about that betrayal, that hurt, the marriage that fell apart, the broken heart, the lies you told and the one’s told about you and the false accusations. Yesterday is a thief.

You cannot change anything from yesterday. You can learn from it. You can receive forgiveness and give forgiveness for it. Once you repent the Lord will forgive your sins. If He isn’t thinking about your sins of yesterday, why are you?

Psalm 103:12 He has removed our sins as far as the east is to the west.

Matthew 6:14 If you forgive others the wrongs they have done to you, your Father in heaven will also forgive you.

Lord, into Your strong hands I place my life today. I thank You for yesterday and all it taught me and for today, please help me to do your will, and if tomorrow comes, I thank You for it, for it has no mistakes in it yet. Help me to have a closer walk with You. Thank You for my yesterdays, todays and tomorrows if they come. Thank You for all that has and will make me stronger in faith and closer to You. In Jesus Name. Amen
