Rant for Jesus-This Old Ship, September 2020

If I were a ship I would be considered an old one now. Most people prefer a newer model of ship than what I am. I have sailed on familiar and on unknown shores. Danger was in some of the wind that propelled me onward. But, Jesus was on board. He tells the dangerous wind, peace be still. The wind must obey. He is with me. He will never leave me. So I continue in the waters of life with Jesus.

Even though this ship has seen beautiful waters that glided by smoothly, there have also been many troubled waters. I have been beaten and battered through raging seas with merciless waves. Some have rocked me from one side to the other. While others tried to capsize me in the storms and waves of life. The bow and stern are showing their age. The dents and dings of life have taken a toll on this old ship. But, Jesus is still onboard. He is the Captain of this ship and is mighty to save. Nothing will ever separate me from His love, grace and mercy. He tells me He is my Refuge, Shield, Hightower and Sword. He says the ship may be shaken but it will never sink because He is the Captain of this ship. So I continue in the waters of life with my Captain.

One day this ship will be led out into the calm beautiful waters the Lord promises those who believe and follow after Him. This old ship will be sailing out of life’s troubled seas. When that time comes Jesus will lead me out of all my troubles, hurts and trials. I will leave them behind for the place He has prepared for me and all those who love and obey Him. He will perfect all things concerning me. When He calls my name I will set sail straight into His arms to look right into His beautiful face. I will be safe in Jesus’ arms where He will tell me I have made it home. I will dwell in the House of the Lord forever, with Jesus.

Ready to go home? Recognize your sins have separated you from God and repent from them. Ask His forgiveness. God loves us and sent Jesus to die for our sins, taking the punishment we deserve. Accept Jesus as your Savior.

1 John 1:9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

Romans 5:8 God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.

God bless. Heal the brokenhearted, bind up all their wounds.
