Bible Strong-Word of God, November 2020

There are Christians who do not read the Bible. Most will say they don’t have time. Tell the truth. It isn’t a priority in your life. Everyone has 24 hours in a day and can set aside 5 or 10 minutes a day to read God’s Word. This benefits you. Take time to get it in you. There is no set amount of time to spend in Gods’ Word. Maybe it is 5 minutes, maybe 10, or 30 each day. Whatever amount it is, be faithful and read it. You cannot know Him intimately if you do not read His Word.

Proverbs 4:20-22 My son, attend to my words; incline thy ear unto my sayings. Let them not depart from your eyes; keep them in the midst of your heart. They are life unto those that find them and health to all their flesh.

Get close to God. Put God first in your life. He is worthy to be placed number one. He will take care of you.

Matthew 6:33 But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.

Let the Word refresh you, renew your mind and soul. It is food for the heart and soul. Let His Word get inside you. Read it out loud. Speak His Word. It has power. When God created the heavens, and the earth, He said Let there be……. He spoke it out loud each time, and it was so. His Word is alive, mighty, powerful, and full of authority. Speak it! Obey it! Share it!

Hebrews 4:12 For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double edged sword it penetrates, even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart.

The Bible tells us His Word endures forever. You can see that it has. Thousands of years have passed and God’s Word is still with us.

1 Peter 1:25 But the word of the Lord endures forever. Now this is the word which by the gospel was preached to you.

God has not changed His mind about what is in the Bible. It doesn’t need to be changed for any generation. His Word is truth today just as it was thousands of years ago. The Pope and other preachers may change with the times, what they believe, allow and accept, but that doesn’t make it right. In God’s eyes if it was a sin when He wrote it, it is a sin now and forever. He is the Lord of Lord’s and the King of Kings above any and all religious leaders, politicians and courts. He will not bless a sin. The Lord is the same yesterday, today and for all times.

Hebrews 13:8 Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever.

There are literally thousands of promises in His Word. God’s Word tells you what you can be. It tells you everything Jesus has done for you, and all the blessings and promises He has for you as a child of God. He tells you over and over, He will not leave you nor fail you. This promise is found in several books of the Bible, old and new Testaments. He is always with us.

Jeremiah 29:11 For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.

Isaiah 41:10, Deuteronomy 31:6, Hebrews 13:5-8 Be strong and of good courage, do not fear nor be afraid of them for the Lord your God, He is the One who goes with you. He will not leave you nor forsake you.

God’s Word is a lamp for our feet to follow. It is our guide. If we don’t read His Word how can we follow Him? How can He lead us and guide us? As a Christian you must read His Word and then follow what it says. You must obey Him. Only when you hear His Word and obey it, will you receive all the Lord has for you. When you don’t apply God’s Word in your life, you aren’t maturing or changing to become more like Jesus. Blessings will follow you when you apply God Word in your actions and everyday life.

You can’t be changed if you don’t know what is in the Bible as to how God wants you to live, behave, speak, forgive, help, pray and teach others. You are giving up a close relationship with Him if you aren’t reading His Word. You can’t get to know Him without reading His Word that tells us all about Him and what is acceptable or not, what is pleasing and what is not.

While living our lives today, we must filter everything through God’s Word. If you are confused about whether something is from God or not, ask yourself, does it contradict Scripture; will it make me sin; will it honor and glorify God? Anything that contradicts Scripture or will make you sin is not from God and it’s not okay.

Mark 13:31 Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will not pass away.

Matthew 4:4 Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God.

The Bible is not just a book, it is God talking to us. It’s God’s truth. It tells you how to live your life, how to behave, how to love and forgive, how to treat your enemies, and how to deal with your problems. It is your weapon to be used in defeating Satan and your enemies.

It renews your mind as you read it and shows us the Lord’s wisdom. Reading it lifts our spirits and helps us to see ourselves as we really are, so we can refocus our life and perspective. The Bible warns us when we are about to make a wrong choice or decision. It will redirect our path.

Romans 12:2 Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.

John 17:17 Sanctify them through thy truth, thy word is truth.

Reading the Bible is planting seeds that grow, ultimately transforming our character. It takes all our life for this sanctification process. Don’t give up. The Lord is still working on us. His Word says He will perfect us. Ask Him to.

Psalm 138:8 The Lord will perfect all things concerning me. Your mercy my Lord endures forever.

We surely won’t know and can’t follow what His will is without reading what it is, in His Word. Get in it and let it get in you. Holy Spirit can then lead and guide you, help, comfort and strengthen you, teach, correct and convict you.

The Bible doesn’t change. It has the answers you need to live a godly righteous life. Stand on God’s Word.

Isaiah 40:8 The grass withers and the flowers fade, but the word of God endures forever.

Reading God’s Word has the power to change us. It changes our thinking, our mindset and the way we speak and hear. Then it shows up in our behavior, in the way we treat others, in the way we love and forgive. Reading God’s Word helps us to make better choices and decisions in the 21st century.

Our thinking must be changed into new godly ways of thinking, therefore changing our mind set and behavior. What we know in our minds, forms a conviction in our hearts. That conviction in our hearts, turns into actions we take and words we speak.

Once you get God’s Word inside of you, He can direct your steps. Holy Spirit can lead you in all aspects of your life that you yield to Him.

The Bible says to walk in His Word, seek it, speak it, learn it, take heed to it, hide it in your heart, rejoice in it, strengthen yourself according to it, incline your heart to it, be revived by it, direct your steps according to it and to write it on your heart.

Psalm 119:11 Thy word have I hid in my heart that I might not sin against thee.

Smith Wigglesworth-“The Bible is the Word of God: supernatural in origin, eternal in duration, inexpressible in valor, infinite in scope, regenerative in power, infallible in authority, universal in interest, personal in application, inspired in totality. Read it through, write it down, pray it in, work it out, and then pass it on. Truly it is the Word of God. It brings into man the personality of God; it changes the man until he becomes the epistle of God. It transforms his mind, changes his character, takes him on from grace to grace, and gives him an inheritance in the Spirit. God comes in, dwells in, walks in, talks through, and sups with him.”

Wisdom is the ability to take God’s Word and apply it to your life.

Proverbs 3:13-18 Blessed are those who find wisdom, those who gain understanding for she is more profitable than silver and yields better returns than gold. She is more precious than rubies; nothing you desire can compare with her. Long life is in her right hand; in her left hand are riches and honor. Her ways are pleasant ways, and all her paths are peace. She is a tree of life to those who take hold of her; those who hold her fast will be blessed.

When you walk in God’s Word you are like a tree that is planted in rivers of living water. Your leaves will not wither, your fruit will come in due season and whatever you do it shall prosper. Praise God.

Jeremiah 17:7-8 But blessed is the one who trusts in the Lord whose confidence is in him. They will be like a tree planted by the water that sends out its roots by the stream. It does not fear when heat comes; its leaves are always green. It has no worries in a year of drought and never fails to bear fruit.

There is a great reward reading, speaking and living by God’s Word. God sees, He knows and He will reward you. Your life is made more abundant while you are on the earth. Jesus said: I am come so you may have life and have it more abundantly.

Receive God’s Word and be a doer of the Word so the power of the Word of God can work in your life. Stop living your life your way, instead of His way and receive His blessings.

Lord, Thank You for Your counsel, for communicating with us through Your Word. I pray Lord You would give whoever is reading this, a desire to want to read Your Word, obey Your Word, speak Your Word and share Your Word in Jesus Name.

God bless. Heal the brokenhearted, bind up all their wounds.
