Christian With Arms Raised To God AlmightyHumans are made up of 3 parts, body, soul and spirit. Our soul is our mind, will and emotions. Accepting Jesus begins to enable our soul to come into alignment with our spirit that has been born again. The Holy Spirit enters upon our accepting Jesus and is perfect from the time He enters and aligns with our spirit. Nothing required for the Holy Spirit who is all knowing, all perfect, part of the God Head. Our souls not so much. There is sometimes much healing that needs to occur when our souls are cracked, bruised, broken and wounded trauma).

Your soul (mind, will and emotions) have to go through a process to be healed. A soul that is wounded by past sin and trauma isn’t instantly healed. The Lord has to heal some of these cracks and wounds that are on the inside of you. Like me you may not even know of their existence. These wounds may manifest themselves in your life as depression, anger, hate, pain, abusive relationships, harshness, sorrow etc.
These woundings can happen throughout the various stages of our lives. A soul can become wounded, bruised and cracked from our own sin, someone sinning against us and trauma that has happened to us from childhood to adulthood. You may be a Christian going to heaven and still have a wounded soul.

We build walls around our hearts as a coping mechanism to protect us from the pain and the memory of the traumatic event or events. The walls of protection we build are temporary and not full proof. These walls can form at a young age and help a person to continue with their life.

If you have a soul full of pain, a mind full of worry or a heart that is broken, it shows in your life. Even if you are born again, the wounds, if not removed can continue to affect everything you do in life. Your attitudes and actions are an expression and reflection of the wounds you are still living with. It can affect your speech, attitude, your marriage, relationships and how well you get along with others, your job, everything. It can cause strife and division.

I didn’t even know I was carrying my past around until just a few years ago. It began in me when I was 11. It didn’t stop there. Trauma seemed to be part of my life story as I look back at it. Loss and abandonment, rejection, molestation, the spirit of fear had wounded me.

3 John: 1-2, Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth.

We know what our own sin is. We have seen it in our lives.

Psalm 41:4, NKJV I said, Lord, be merciful to me; Heal my soul, for I have sinned against you
In John 5 the story of the man who had an infirmity for 38 years is told. The word infirmity in the Greek literally means weakness of the body and of the soul.

In Bethesda sick people went to a certain pool of water where an angel would sometimes come and cause the waters to be moved. Whoever could first step into the waters would be healed.

Jesus was there one day and saw a man lying by the pool and He knew the man had been there a long time. Jesus told him to get up. Rise, take up thy bed and walk. Immediately the man was healed. Later Jesus sees the man in the temple and says to him, Behold thou art made whole; sin no more, lest a worse thing come unto thee. The sickness came from his sin, he kept carrying around. Jesus even told him, sin no more lest a worse thing come unto thee. In other words, Jesus was saying to the man, get up, pick up your bed, and clean your mess up. Start living the life Jesus wants you to live.

Instances of people sinning against us are numerous. A few examples would be, being used, betrayal, humiliation, being lied to, deceived, persecution. The list goes on and on.

I will mention a few areas that can cause trauma, cracked, bruised, wounded souls. Abandonment, molestation, rejection, broken heart, abusive father or mother, unloved, spirit of fear, verbal and physical abuse, sexual abuse, divorce, death of loved ones, etc. You get the picture. Unfortunately many have experienced more than one of these. Some of you several of them. I know I have.

Psalm 23:3, NKJV He restores my soul; He leads me in the paths of righteousness For His name’s sake
Psalm 147:3, NKJV He heals the broken-hearted and binds up their wounds

A wounded soul can manifest itself in the form of a spirit of fear and worry. Bad thoughts start playing out in your head. Scenarios where you imagine an entire catastrophe coming from your own imagination. Bad things such as death of loved ones, bad things happening to your children, sicknesses etc. can be manifested in your mind. Any small thing can be turned into a catastrophic event in a matter of minutes. Over and over again, year after year, these thoughts take control of your mind. It isn’t just your imagination it is worry and fear causing it. You keep imagining fearful events, that don’t even exist. It can go on forever if your wounded soul isn’t healed. The enemy has penetrated. Satan can bring Christians and non-Christians down by striking them with the spirit of fear and worry. Jesus repeatedly told His disciples not to worry.

2 Corinthians 10:3-5,For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh: (For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strongholds;) Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ.

1 John 4:18 NIV There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with (evil) punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love.

Avoid letting the spirit of fear take hold in your life and to take control of your thoughts so that your actions will be motivated by love rather than fear. Speak God’s word out loud and knock them down. You can’t think fear and worry while speaking God’s word.

You have to let God heal you and make you what He wanted you to be all along. He heals us and uses us through our testimony to help others, to bring others into God’s healing power.

God wants to deliver you from your past, from being bruised and broken and from all things that have hurt you. He can bring us from destruction to victory.

A broken hearted person is someone who is hurting on the inside. They need emotional healing. If you have a soul full of pain, a mind full of worry or a heart that is broken it shows in your life.
Accepting Jesus is the first step to healing your soul. No doubt if your soul is wounded there are probably people you need to forgive. Don’t forget to forgive yourself too.

Renew your mind with His word each day. Begin your day by speaking the words of God out loud. Whisper them. Declare them. The word not only heals and restores the soul, it changes our mind-set.

God wants to heal your soul, from all the things that have hurt you.

Ask Jesus to forgive you of your sins and to come into your heart. Ask the Holy Spirit to please enter and live in you, to lead, guide, teach, touch, heal and comfort you. Ask Him to heal you on the inside. Begin the process of walking in faith with Jesus as your Lord and Savior.

God Bless. Heal the broken hearted, bind up all their wounds.
