The Message-Ziklag Encouragement, April 2019

While David and all of his men were away from their families and their camp in Ziklag, the enemy came and crushed their camp and burned it to the ground. All of their wives and children were taken hostage and all of their belongings were seized. When David and his men came back they saw the ruins and realized what had happened to their families, they wept until they could weep no more.

David’s men became very bitter about losing their wives, sons and daughters and blamed David. They began talking about stoning him, but David found strength in the Lord his God through prayer. God told him to go after the enemy and recover what had been taken from them.

Instead of allowing bitterness to get inside of him, David went to the Lord for help and was encouraged. Though he was knocked down he refused to stay down. He chose hope instead of despair. He was thrown down but not broken. Though he was surrounded by troubles and didn’t know what to do, he knew God knew what to do. He knew God hadn’t left his side. He trusted God to take care of him and their circumstances. With God’s help they brought back everyone and everything that was taken from them.

1 Corinthians 4:8-9 We are pressed on every side by troubles, bet we are not crushed. We are perplexed but not driven to despair. We are hunted down but never abandoned by God. We get knocked down but we are not destroyed.

We may be pressed down but we aren’t destroyed. We may be persecuted but we aren’t abandoned. God is still by our side. There is still encouragement. You are still breathing so there is still hope.

In times of doubt, discouragement and loss, believers need to call on the Lord, and talk to Him.  Ask for guidance. Ask Him to strengthen you with His strength. When you wake up and things look bad to you, even hopeless God’s Grace is enough to get you through the days to come. We must trust God and know that God acts (sovereignly) in complete authority, in all that comes to pass, so that everything might work toward His purpose.

Refuse to give in to fear, despair, imaginations and past failures. Don’t allow what the enemy throws at you to get the best of you. You are a child of the King. You are more than a conqueror. This too shall pass.

Because of what Jesus has done, you can do all things through Christ who strengthens you. Don’t let the enemy steal your joy, peace, hope and dreams.

Declare that greater is He that is in me than he who is in the world. Don’t allow the world to pull you away from Jesus. Remember what He has done for all of us by dying on a cross, defeating death, hell and the grave. Salvation and eternal life is only through Jesus. He has gone to prepare a place for those who love Him.

God is fighting for you. He wants to spread the light of Jesus throughout all the world to keep out the darkness Satan wants to bring in. Death and destruction is all Satan has for you. Fight against the struggles in Jesus Name. Give God your circumstances, your trials and tribulations. He can do the impossible for you. He can make a way where there seems to be no way. He can open doors that no man can shut.

You are fearfully and wonderfully made by God. He designed you to include the number of hairs in your head. He has planned your destiny. He requires you to obey and follow Him. Fight for your destiny God has for you.

Satan only has death and destruction in your destiny. Never give up never quit because it’s hard. Remember you are a child of God, a child of the King. You are filled with the Holy Spirit who raised Jesus from the dead. God lives in you. You have power inside of you as a child of God all because of Jesus. Fight Satan in the Name of Jesus. You can’t lose doing that!  Resist the devil and he must flee.

John 10:10 the thief cometh to steal, kill and to destroy. I have come that you may have life and have it more abundantly.

Notice that word abundantly. Jesus wants us to have an abundant life now. The thief’s (Satan) purpose is to steal, kill and destroy. Jesus’ purpose is to give a rich and satisfying life now. We don’t have to wait for heaven to have a taste of it on earth.

Tell the world what kind of God you serve and what He has done for you. Let the world see Jesus Christ in you by how you live, by what you say and do.

No matter how big your struggles are God can help you get through them. Some He will make disappear, others He will make it easier to get through, over or around. There are some He will carry you over if needed.

It may be the death of a loved one, broken heart, aloneness, rejection, your marriage, finances, children, grandchildren, addictions, lust, sexual perverseness, whatever it is God can help you get through it all if you will only ask Him to. But something is required of you. You must obey Him. He requires your obedience to receive abundant blessings. He knows we aren’t perfect so when we fail we must repent and turn to God. He’s a forgiving God, patient and merciful.

I know there are some who are betting against you. There are some who said you would never get up. They say you have no future, you will never amount to anything. The Lord sent me here to tell you, the devil is a liar. He is the Father of lies, there is no truth in him.

Our thinking must be changed from old ungodly ways of thinking into new godly ways of thinking, therefore changing our mind set and behavior. What we know in our minds, forms a conviction in our hearts. That conviction in our hearts, turns into actions we take and words we speak.

The only way to replace what Satan has put into our minds, is with God’s truth which is His Word, the Bible. This renewing of the mind comes as believers study God’s Word. It gets in your mind and heart. It changes the way you think, how you respond to others and how you speak and act.

Jesus is the only one who can calm every thought, every storm, and fear. Jesus is your Strength your Shield, and He will never fail you.

Jesus came to destroy the works of the devil, and to bring abundant life. Jesus, and Satan couldn’t have a more different purpose.

1 John 3:8 He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil.

John 10:10 The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.

Joshua 24:15 says, choose this day who you will serve.

I will follow and serve Jesus all of my days.

God bless. Heal the brokenhearted, bind up all their wounds.
